Culture wars are dumb!

By it's very definition, a war against people's way of life, their understanding of self and their role in the world is unwinnable. At best, it is sworn to be a long battle with many casualties along the way and if history has taught us anything's about wars, it is that the most brutal of them all are those where the foot soldiers believe they are fighting for a noble cause - a fight for their very identity and some goal bigger than themselves.

Take any of the more famous culture war and you begin to understand the picture better. Each side believe the other side are a direct threat to their existence and anything short of a total annihilation of the rival team is failure.

So, it doesn't matter how many are destroyed, shamed, embarrassed or bruised, the war goes on and only gets nastier.

Culture wars have also been reduced, sadly, to tool for fame, money and power and the fiercest warriors and advocates DO NOT WANT TO WIN. Don't get me wrong, they do not want to lose either, they want, nay, need the war to go on for as long as possible, ultimately, forever!

The devil has been trying since the beginning of the world to put a wedge between man and God and then against a fellow man and for all his efforts and research, there's been little to show for it till culture war. Satan's least thought out and most ridiculous experiment, however, is his most effective tool to date. Lucky bastard, Lucifer.

Culture wars last because of two ingredients - man's insatiable lust for fame and power and the devil's need for division and since neither can be satisfied easily, the war rages on. That explains the continuous shifting of goalposts and everytime you think progress is being made, a new wrench is thrown in the wheel and everything goes back to hell!.

Ever wondered why the biggest "anti-woke" crusaders can't define "wokeness"? and the fiercest defenders and advocates of women's rights can't define what a "woman" is? The war must go on, even if it doesn't make sense!

That also explain why no one will ever find a middle ground, it doesn't exist, each side will keep pulling farther back.

Culture wars have also become the tool of the incompetent. Like the old saying "If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table."

Take Florida for example, it's beleaguered governor, Ron DeSantis and his failing bid for the US presidency (no, Donald Trump did not make me write that). Governor DeSantis has made "anti-transgenderism" a cornerstone of His campaign but here is a simple bit of information- there are more poor people in Florida, about 2.7m or 13.1% of the population (source- United States Bureau of the Census) than there are transgender people, about 1.6m or 0.5% of the population (source -Williams Institute) in the entirety of the United States of America.
Facts are indeed stubborn things, like John Adams famously said.

Instead of focusing on bread and butter issues affecting His people, the governor is spending His days working with His state's congress to fight "the woke mob". Make of that what you will.
