Conservatives Cannot Govern

Whether it's in advanced democracies or third world countries ravaged with poverty an unemployment, one thing has been proven true time and again - conservative, right wing politicians cannot rule in a democracy. They only win when they lose!

They are best in slogans only and playing opposition. They have little to nothing to offer when it comes to thoughtful, workable process to creating a working economy, pulling people out of poverty and creating the needed environment for citizens to thrive while fully upholding the tenets of democracy. All they have is quick sound bites, catchy phrases and promises that are not worth the papers they're written on and that is why from BREXIT to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN to the purported CHANGE in Nigeria, etc have all resulted in bitter disappointments and in many situations, left the countries worse than they met them.

Their best days are on the campaign trail where they spend time propagating their fear mongering tactics and creating enemies of "the other side", the "US vs THEM" mentality is making our world worse and creating unnecessary chaos in their wake.

Conservatives have no new ideas.

The very definition of conservatism is a narrow, keep-things-as-they or worse, craving for the days of old. They're struggling to keep up in a rapidly changing world and their solution for everything is "reverse" and "ban". Every conservative leaning government and politician in the world have a laundry list of things they have banned, are banning or planning to ban. They are always longing for days of old, "if only things could go back to where they were in the 60s". They can't embrace new ideas, heck, they seem scared of it. They can't or don't want to open their minds to new concepts and better ways of getting things done, they loathe those who don't agree with or look like them, in an ever dynamic and rapidly changing world, the core of conservatism is almost like a clog in the wheel of progress.

The worst thing yet about conservatives is their willingness to burn everything down if and when they don't get their way. When they lose elections, something must be wrong. Two years ago, we saw them in the United States capitol and just recently, in Brazil. It is time for the so called "adults in the room" to stand up properly and be counted, for the good of all us.
