Hire a marketing/Branding manager.

Welcome back to class, if you missed the previous lesson, you can find it HERE.

Back in secondary/High school, we were taught different forms of business ownership, the first and most prominent of which is the SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP. This system of business, our educators say, is where one man own and run their business, often without little or no paid help. They are in charge of every department and make ebeey decision. This, till date, remain the most popular form of business ownership in the world.

What many people ignore, however, is "popular" does not equal effective. Running a one man show is a recipe for disaster. In fact, if you own a business and it remains a sole proprietorship for long, that is your first indication the business has stagnated.

As a business owner in this day and age, it is important to hire helping hands as soon as you can afford it, not because you can't do the job but like the old saying goes "if you want to run fast, go alone. If you want to run far, go together". Find other people who can soak some of the pressures off you and possibly pioneer new ideas and means to elevate your trade.

In hiring others, however, you have to be able to explain your vision and long term goals to them in a way they get it and it becomes their biggest driving force and that is the first advantage of bringing in new minds; you understand your business well enough to explain it to someone else who wasn't there when you got the idea and they are able to comprehend your dreams. Like the Bible says "write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it".
Habakkuk 2:2 KJV
If you can explain it to an employee, you can most certainly convince an investor.

One of the first people you should consider hiring is a talented brand manager.
One who will be in charge of messaging, content curation and tell your brand story in a way it resonates with the average Tolani.
In my journey as a community manager, the more common error I have seen is brilliant minds with brilliant ideas not able to communicate with anyone below their reading level. I have sat with founders and CEOs who have ideas and solutions for the future but their explanations are laced with tech jargons and slangs. I call them the Patrick Obahiagbons of Web3.
"Communication is not complete untill the receiver gives a feedback", isn't that what we were taught in school?

That is why I have come up with a phrase for myself, when I am asked to explain what I do, I simply say "I am the voice TO the streets". I simplify the jargons so the intended users can understand how the product serves them!

"get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding".
Proverbs 4:7 KJV
